Classes offered are based strongly upon the teachings of Agrippina Vaganova who is credited with developing the Russian School of Dance. The success of this method is evidenced by the legendary dancers it has produced including Nureyev, Baryshnikov, Makarova, and Balanchine.
Regina Bogomolova is deeply committed to preserving the fundamentals of this technique at Classical Ballet of Fredericksburg. Ms. Bogomolova has studied closely with Russian instructors and Master Teachers for the past 19 years, most prominent among these is her husband, Vadim Bogomolov who is himself one of the elite Soviet era graduates of the Vaganova Choreographic Institute in St. Petersburg (Leningrad), Russia, also known as the Kirov Ballet School and recipient of the title of "Ballet Master" awarded by the Bolshoi Academy of Ballet (Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow). Her success in implementing techniques from abroad with those learned in the US, is evident in the successes of her students who have been recognized with top honors at respected ballet competitions both Stateside and in Europe.
